What is the difference between binary and ternary (Trinary) computing? +

Binary computing operates on two states — 0 and 1, off or on. Every chip in every device today, including Apple Silicon, processes data in this binary paradigm at the transistor level. Trinary Bound™ does not change how the chip computes. It introduces a third state at the architectural level — how data is classified, held, and moved across a sovereign AI system.

The three custody states are:

Hector J. Cabrera invented the Trinary Bound™ topology on November 27, 2025 — Thanksgiving Day. On that date he conceived, documented, and established the foundational architecture: a three-node sovereign AI system built on Apple Silicon (Mac M4 and M5) as the compute substrate, with a ternary-gated data custody model enforced across physically separate storage nodes.

A provisional patent application was filed to lock that date. The U.S. Utility Patent Application (No. 19/458,785) was filed January 24, 2026 — with the November 27, 2025 priority date formally recognized by the USPTO. All rights have been assigned to Hectec.ai Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation.
